PRINCETON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: ACCESS Testing for English Language Learners

Englishclass

Princeton Elementary School issued the following announcement on Feb. 9.

North Carolina schools are required to administer ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 to all students identified as English Learners (ELs) in the spring of each year to determine their progress in learning English. Each student is tested in four areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. This assessment helps us monitor their English language development.

The state window for Johnston County Public Schools annual ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 is January 24th through March 11th, 2022. JCPS ELL students will be tested between January 24th and February 24th.

As a parent/guardian you have the right to request and be provided with information regarding any state or local educational agency policy regarding student participation in any assessments mandated by the state or Johnston County Public Schools. As soon as we receive your child’s results, you will receive a report with information about the scores.

Please call your school’s ESL teacher if you have any questions or concerns.
