Ashley Holloman, an agricultural educator at Corinth Holders High School in Archer Lodge, North Carolina, has been named one of six recipients of the 2025 National Association of Agricultural Educators’ (NAAE) Outstanding Agriculture Teacher Award. The honor was presented during the NAAE Convention held December 8-12 in Nashville.
The NAAE Outstanding Agriculture Teacher Award is given to active members who have demonstrated excellence, leadership, and service within agricultural education. According to the organization, “It highlights each teacher’s ability to draw upon community resources to provide relevant and meaningful educational experiences for all students. Award recipients demonstrate how they are innovators and catalysts for agricultural education.” The award is sponsored by Tractor Supply Co.
Holloman has taught at Corinth Holders High School for 12 years. During this time, she has worked to create a classroom environment that supports students from diverse backgrounds and encourages their success. She has secured more than $27,000 in grant funding for her program’s school farm and facilities, giving students practical experience in livestock production, animal handling, and biosecurity practices.
Her teaching includes scientific applications such as cattle genetics laboratories and expected progeny difference (EPD) analysis. All students in her program complete a supervised agricultural experience (SAE), with many using these projects as steps toward long-term careers. Holloman was also recently selected for the NAAE National Agriscience Teacher Ambassador Program.
NAAE represents over 10,000 agricultural educators nationwide and provides professional development opportunities while advocating for the profession. Its mission is “professionals providing agricultural education for the global community through visionary leadership, advocacy and service.” The organization is based in Lexington, Kentucky.
