County of Johnston issued the following announcement on Feb. 1.

Adults can receive free vision screenings from the Smithfield Lions Club volunteers at the Johnston County Health Department from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on February 6, February 15, February 22, March 8, March 17, and March 27. 

Patients who meet the requirements will be referred to an optometrist for a complete eye exam.

The tests will take place at the Acute Care Clinic, which is located inside the Health Department. 

There will be a sign-in sheet in the lobby area. The Health Department is located at 517 North Brightleaf Boulevard in Smithfield.
