County of Johnston issued the following announcement on Jul. 30.
A Heat advisory has been issued for Johnston County today, July 30th, 2021, from 11 AM to 7 PM. Temperatures are expected to be near 94 degrees with a heat index as high as 103.
Remember to:
– Stay hydrated
– Limit outdoor activity as much as possible & take frequent breaks
– Check in on elderly friends, family, and neighbors
– Get your pets plenty of water

A request has been made to rezone part of Winston Pointe from church use to townhomes. The Planning Board will review this proposal on March 23 in Clayton. Residents can contact Senior Planner Robert Tate for more details.
The Town of Clayton is now accepting applications for paid summer internships across multiple departments. The program aims to provide students with hands-on experience in local government roles. Applications are due by March 31.
