COUNTY OF JOHNSTON: One Time Stimulus Payment for young adults who were in Foster Care

County of Johnston issued the following announcement on Sep 18. 

DSS currently has funding to provide a one-time stimulus payment to young adults who were in foster care. The basic eligibility requirements are:

  • You were in foster care on or after your 14th birthday; and
  • You are now at least 18 years of age; and
  • Have not yet turned 27 years of age

To apply for these funds, you must apply in person to 806 North Street Smithfield, NC 27577. A picture identification will be required. Applications are being accepted until September 30, 2021. However, funding is limited and may be exhausted and no longer available before that time. Applications will be reviewed for approval or denial in the order in which they are received.
