County of Johnston Public Health Department issued the following announcement on July 5.
Following the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) broadened their recommendation of COVID-19 vaccines for individuals 6 through 17 years of age to include the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine product.

The Johnston County Public Health Department will begin offering Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to individuals ages 6-11 and 12-17 on Friday, July 8, 2022.
Children between the ages of 6-17 are now eligible for:
A two-dose primary series OR
A three-dose primary series for immunocompromised individuals
Both Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, for all individuals ages six months and older, are offered at the Johnston County Public Health Department Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. and on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. on a walk-in basis.
