Johnston County Public Schools (JCPS) held its annual Leadership Conference from July 15-17, 2025, at Corinth Holders High. The event brought together principals, assistant principals, and Central Office staff to share insights and strategies for the upcoming academic year.
Lyn Andrews, Chair of the Johnston County Board of Education, opened the conference with remarks acknowledging the dedication of administrators as they prepare for the 2025-2026 school year.
Dr. David Pearce, newly appointed JCPS Superintendent, introduced his theme “Forward” and outlined his vision for continuing progress in the district. He reviewed past achievements and areas for growth alongside senior leadership.
“It is always great to see the collaborative work that takes place during the annual leadership conference,” Dr. Pearce stated. He emphasized inspiration among school-based administrators to impact students’ lives positively.
The conference focused on building high-impact Professional Learning Communities (PLC), allowing educators to collaborate on enhancing learning methods. Attendees also participated in Grade Alike sessions for planning and idea sharing.
Rhett Smith, Assistant Principal at North Johnston High, expressed his appreciation: “I’ve been very impressed with the enthusiasm and momentum around the vision that was created this year.”
Dr. Pearce added that moving forward in all areas while focusing on student achievement was a primary goal. JCPS aims to maintain its history of academic success and continue improving performance.
Student Resource Officers (SROs) were recognized for their commitment to safety at JCPS schools. Their role is crucial in maintaining a secure environment conducive to learning.
