Johnston County Public Schools issued the following announcement on Mar. 15.

Johnston County Public Schools Chief of Facilities and Construction Brooks Moore presented the 2022 Growth Needs Update to the Johnston County Board of Education at their March meeting. 

Utilizing the county-wide growth and development data and following the facility needs recommendation, NC State University’s Operations Research and Education Laboratory (OREd) presented last month, Johnston County Public Schools needs $705,000,000 of funding to construct the 6 new schools, 6 additions to existing schools, and infrastructure/modernization improvements.

The information was presented as information and JCPS will continue to work and collaborate with Johnston County Government officials on a potential 2022 bond referendum.
