Selma Parks and Recreation issued the following announcement on Jan. 6.

Join us for the 6th Annual Polar Bear Run 5K through Selma.
$10 per runner — pets are free of charge

There will NOT be registration the day of the event — you must pre-register by 4pm, Friday, January 15, 2021.

Social distancing rules will apply. Face masks must be worn at check-in but will not be required at start of race.

Check in is :15min prior to race start time at the corner of Webb and Waddell streets in Selma.
GPS location: 110 E. Waddell Street, Selma, NC.

RAIN DATE IS: SUNDAY, JANUARY 16TH SAME TIMES.

Run with your DOG, CAT, BIRD, LIZARD, GOLDFISH, WHATEVER!
(Must clean up if pet makes waste and all pets must be on leash or restrained in cage/carrier)

This is an unsanctioned run – Timer will be available for those interested in knowing their run time.

Bailey’s Human Rescue (BHR), a 501(c)3 non-profit founded in 2019, strives to address the overpopulation crisis faced by domestic animals, and to reduce euthanasia rates of healthy animals in Johnston County and surrounding areas.
