A North Carolina state senator praised the Department of Transportation's plans to improve several intersections in Harnett County that are known for accidents.
Sen. Jim Burgin (R-Harnett) posted to Facebook on Aug. 10 his praise for the upgrades and said he recently spoke with department officials about the need in the county.
"I had a great conversation with DOT this morning about three intersections in Harnett County," Burgin said in his Facebook post.
The intersections slated for the fixes are Sheriff Johnson Road at Old Buies Creek Road; Neills Creek Road at Old Coats Road; and Red Hill Church Road at Ash Avenue, Burgin said in his post. The Department of Transportation will make the three intersections in Harnett County four-way stops during the next 60 days, and will also include new markings and extra signs.
"All three have had numerous accidents and even some fatalities, so I’m glad they are all being improved," Burgin said in the Facebook post.
