Burlington Stores has donated $5,000 to Pine Level Elementary School as part of its collaboration with the Adopt-A-Classroom program. The donation was made during a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Burlington's newest store. Present at the event were school administrators, teachers, community members, representatives from Johnston County Public Schools (JCPS), and local dignitaries.

The funds are intended to support teachers in purchasing necessary classroom supplies through AdoptAClassroom.org. This ensures that resources will be used appropriately and remain with the school for future use. "We are grateful to be partners with Burlington Stores," said JCPS Superintendent Dr. Eric C. Bracy. He emphasized the importance of businesses that value education and support local communities.

Linsey Martinez, Title 1 Family and Community Engagement Specialist; Allen Sasser, Principal of Pine Level Elementary; and Faitha Batten, JCPS Executive Director of Title 1, were present at the check presentation. They expressed gratitude towards Burlington Stores for their contribution.

Principal Sasser expressed appreciation for Burlington's support: “I simply want to say thank you to the Burlington Corporation for supporting our community.” The partnership is expected to benefit both Pine Level Elementary and the surrounding community.

Fatha Batten highlighted the significance of such partnerships: "Community partnerships are highly valued in our district, especially for our Title 1 schools." She expressed excitement about future opportunities stemming from this new store located at Eastfield Crossing in Selma.

The donation reflects Burlington Stores' commitment to education within its new store's vicinity and strengthens its ties with local educational institutions.
