Ms. Shayla Joyner has been recognized as the Classified Employee of the Month for March 2025. She is a fifth-grade teacher at West Smithfield Elementary, known for her dedication to teaching and making a positive impact on her students' lives. Joyner emphasizes building meaningful relationships, setting high expectations, and creating an environment where students feel supported and motivated.

Reflecting on her journey in education, Joyner stated, "When I was a student in Johnston County Public Schools, the teachers and staff members inspired me in so many ways." She aims to inspire and help her students grow just as she was inspired by her educators.
