Town of Clayton issued the following announcement on June 21.

 Due to a piping failure at the Johnston County Water Treatment Plant, Johnston County Public Utilities has declared a water shortage advisory.  

All customers including all of water customers served by the Town of Clayton should immediately refrain from non-essential uses, including irrigation, bulk water purchases, personal car washing, and filling of swimming pools.  The County expects the water shortage advisory to last at least 48 hours and the Town of Clayton will notify customers when the advisory is lifted.  We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience.
