Town of Princeton issued the following announcement on Jul. 15.

Princeton will hold municipal election on November 2, 2021. There are three seats available for this election cycle-mayor and two commissioner seats. The filing fee for mayor is $10 while the filing fee for commissioner is $5. As of this posting on July 13, 2021 at 2:30 pm, there have been no filings for any of the available seats in Princeton. 

Filers must go to the Johnston County Board of Elections in Smithfield between 8 am and 5 pm on July 13, 14 & 15, or by noon on July 16, 2021. The address is 205 S. Second Street, Smithfield, NC 27577. 

A municipal election in Johnston County is a non-partisan election held every two years in odd-numbered years to elect members of a municipality’s governing bodies. There are 11 municipalities whose boundaries lie within Johnston County: Archer Lodge, Selma, Clayton, Princeton, Micro, Benson, Four Oaks, Pine Level, Smithfield, Kenly, and Wilson’s Mills. The filing period to run for Princeton office is noon on Friday, July 2 to noon on Friday, July 16, 2021.
