Town of Selma issued the following announcement on Feb. 9.

Norfolk Southern Railroad will be performing maintenance to several crossings through Selma over the next few weeks. The maintenance will consist of removing and replacing asphalt at all the crossings throughout Selma. This post is to inform you of expected closures and detours. This is a fluid situation with no exact dates for closures as of yet. We will post information as soon as we receive it. Detours will be set up by Norfolk Southern Contractors. Selma is working with the Railroad to ensure the most efficient detour routes and shortest times of closures are achieved. Closures include: Crocker Street, Webb Street, Raiford Street, Pollock Street, Sumner Steet, Green Street, Buffalo Road, and Oak Street. We encourage you to stay informed by following Selma’s Social Media Outlets, Checking our Web Site www.Selma-NC.com, and watch for road signage.
