Town of Smithfield issued the following announcement on Jul. 30. 

The Johnston County Public Utilities Department has lifted the boil water notice for those affected along Hwy. 301 South. If you have any questions concerning the boil water notice, please call the Johnston County Public Utilities Office at 919-989-5075.
