Town of  Smithfield issued the following announcement on March 6.

Our regularly scheduled Smithfield Town Council meeting will be held Tuesday, March 7th, at 7pm inside Council Chambers at Town Hall.

Among the items on the agenda are the swearing-in of a new member of the Smithfield Police Department, and public hearings concerning the town’s downtown service district contract approval and amendments to the town’s Unified Development Ordinances (UDO).
