JOHNSTON COUNTY: Johnston County Solid Waste Services Update on COVID-19 Response

Johnston County issued the following announcement on Mar. 27.

The following information applies to Johnston County Department of Solid Waste Services customers only. All other customers should contact their contracted waste hauler or their local township for more specific information.

Solid Waste Landfill Facility:

The Solid Waste Landfill Facility at 680 County Home Road is operating under the regular schedule. Customers are encouraged to limit their visits. Cash should be used only when there are no other payment options available.

The facility staff will maintain a safe social distance.   Please remember to maintain a safe social distance from others when visiting the facility.

Solid Waste Convenience Sites:

All 12 Solid Waste Convenience Sites are operating under the regular schedule. Customers are encouraged to limit their visits and to remain in their vehicles until the specific container needed is available.

The Site Attendants will maintain a safe social distance.  Please remember to maintain a safe social distance from others when visiting the Convenience Sites. 

Solid Waste Administrative Office:

The administrative office at 680 County Home Road is operating under the regular schedule. Customers are encouraged to use on-line methods for payment and for general inquires.

County citizens may email the department at solidwaste@johnstonnc.com for standard communication or call 919-938-4750 to speak to a solid waste services staff member.

Special Events:

The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event scheduled for Saturday, April 25th has been canceled.
