A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Johnston County Election Department on October 30, 2024. The request pertains to obtaining a comprehensive report on the pre-election testing of voting machines.
We at Johnston Reporter, a media organization dedicated to providing accurate and in-depth coverage of local governmental affairs, made this request under the North Carolina Public Records Law, G.S. §132-1. We specifically asked for the report in an electronic format, preferably PDF.
The information we sought includes the date of testing, the manufacturer of each machine, model numbers, and their respective status - whether they passed or failed during testing.
