On March 8th and 9th, 2025, the First Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 6004, known as f(x) Robotics, participated in the Catawba County Competition held at the Hickory Convention Center. The team was awarded the Imagery Award for their outstanding branding and theming. This marks the sixth consecutive year that f(x) Robotics has received this honor.

The team's coach, DJ Brooks, was nominated as a semi-finalist for the Woodie Flowers Award. This award acknowledges mentors who excel in communicating engineering and design concepts while fostering enthusiasm for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). DJ Brooks has been involved with the team for ten years.

f(x) Robotics has also collaborated with their rookie sister team, Chaos Theory. Founded under the NC Robotics Initiative by f(x) Robotics, Chaos Theory aims to teach new students basic engineering skills at a manageable pace before they advance to f(x) Robotics. At their first competition, Chaos Theory made significant progress. During qualifications, f(x) Robotics was selected as the first pick and Chaos Theory as the second pick for the 6th Ranking alliance.

Both teams are set to compete again on March 22-23, 2025 at DH Conley High School in Greenville.
