The North Carolina House worked together in bipartisan efforts since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to North Carolina being able to stay ahead of the game while making sure funding is distributed to needed areas of the state, Rep. John Bell (R-Greene) said.
"When the COVID-19 outbreak began, the NC House immediately got to work by organizing bipartisan remote working groups to identify short and long term legislative solutions to the developing crisis," Bell said in a Facebook post on Aug. 5.
The Republican-led House has also been in good financial standing when addressing the pandemic.
"Thanks to responsible budgeting over the past decade, the Republican-led NC General Assembly was also uniquely prepared financially to meet the challenge," Bell said in the Facebook post. "This put North Carolina ahead of the game and on a path to bipartisan success – resulting in over $2 billion in COVID-19 relief funding being distributed quickly to health care providers and workers, small businesses, local governments, rural and underserved communities and K-12 schools and universities."
