The North Carolina Community Foundation has awarded approximately $272,000 in scholarships and grants to nonprofits to help them during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We awarded $271,978 in grants and scholarships last week," the NC Community Foundation said in a Sept. 8 Twitter post. "Our nonprofits and the philanthropists who support them have never been more critical. We're proud to serve donors supporting nonprofits doing critical work across our state, especially during these challenging times."
On Sept. 15, the NC Community Foundation announced that it had awarded an additional $881,277 in grants and scholarships for donors that are helping nonprofits, according to a Facebook post.
The NC Community Foundation is a community organization that serves the state to provide over $161 million in scholarships and grants since 1988, according to the NC Community Foundation website.
"With more than $284 million in assets, NCCF sustains more than 1,300 endowments established to provide long-term support of a broad range of community needs, nonprofit organizations, institutions and scholarships," the website states.
