Town Of Benson issued the following announcement on Aug. 8.
We received a report over the weekend of a possible scam call posing as the Town of Benson Utilities Department.
If you receive any suspicious calls about your utility bills, please do not disclose any personal or financial information to individuals who are asking unusually detailed questions about you or your business.
REMEMBER — you can always call Benson Town Hall at (919) 894-3553 and speak with one of our Customer Service Representatives in Utilities for any questions about your utility bills.
Please report any suspicious phone calls to the Benson Police Department at (919) 894-2091.
