TOWN OF PRINCETON: Hiring For Position of Police Officer

Town of Princeton issued the following announcement on Mar. 3.

The Town of Princeton is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police Officer.

Princeton has a population of approximately 1260 residents, and is located 7 miles east of Smithfield in Johnston County.

Duties and responsibilities for this position includes but not limited to patrolling a geographic area or specific location within the town during a shift in a police car or on foot, preventing, detecting, and investigating disturbances and crime, investigating traffic accidents, helping victims, and performing traffic control, appending suspects, testifying in court, and executing related assignments.

REQUIREMENTS:

At least 20 years old

BLET certified

Valid NC driver’s license

Clean criminal history

Clean driving record

Psychological evaluation

Medical evaluation

Drug screening

SALARY:

Starting annual pay for a recent BLET graduate is $45,385. Pay may be increased for additional training and experience after successfully completing probationary period.
