Town of Selma Public Library Department issued the following announcement on July 12.
We are proud to announce that the Johnston County Libraries are now Fines Free! As of July 1st, we are no longer charging late fees at the library!
This is a big change for us - a library, not charging late fees? But it's true! If you have any late fees on your account, your fines have been forgiven! We'll still bill you the cost of any lost items, but we'll forgive those charges as long as those items are brought back!
We hope this makes for a wonderful, easier library experience!
Charges for lost and damaged items will still be charged for on the account.
