Republican candidate Donna McDowell White, a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 26, won the primary election in Johnston County on March 3.
She defeated Justin Tate to win the Republican primary. White won the primary with a landslide 73% vote as voters faced winter conditions to visit the polls. White expressed her gratitude on her Facebook page.
“Thank you to everyone who worked the polls for me over the past two weeks and yesterday," McDowell said. "God bless every volunteer because without you the energetic win of the last 24 hours would not have happened. I have been busy today doing what I do best, serving constituents, so for a little while we will put away the signs and get back to the work of the people. Thank you!"
White is up 16 points and will compete against Linda Bennett (Democrat) in the general election for North Carolina House of Representatives District 26 on Nov. 3, 2020.
