Johnston County Public Schools has announced the appointment of Tami Poland as the principal of Swift Creek Elementary, a new school set to open in fall 2025. Poland currently serves as the principal of Polenta Elementary School and is recognized for her effective leadership and commitment to academic growth.
Under Poland's guidance, Polenta Elementary has made significant progress, improving its school performance grade from a "D" to a "C," with consistent growth each year. The school ranks in the top 20% for growth among all North Carolina schools over the past three years.

She has been in education for 21 years and holds several degrees and certifications, including a Master of School Administration from North Carolina State University.
