TOWN OF SMITHFIELD: Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield Announces Changes in Schedule

Cdc coronavirus 1000

Town of Smithfield recently issued the following announcement.

The Board of Trustees of the Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield has implemented changes with our operations due to the increased number of positive Coronavirus-19 cases.

The library building is temporarily closed to our patrons. All library fines are now suspended and will not accrue. Library staff will continue to work and we encourage our patrons to take advantage of our “curbside service.” To use this service, please request your holds through our online catalog or call the library between Monday through Friday between 9:00 am-5:00 pm, to let us know what materials you’d like to receive.

Patrons can place holds at https://johnston.nccardinal.org/eg/opac/home. Staff will fill the requests and have the items available for pickup. Library staff is working diligently to provide services to our patrons during this difficult time. Please do not hesitate to contact us for information or help to obtain library resources at 919-934-8146.
