TOWN OF BENSON: Utility Cutoff Moratorium Expiring Soon

Ending soon

Town of Benson issued the following announcement on July 17.

The Office of Governor Roy Cooper announced today that the current moratorium on utility cutoffs (Executive Orders 124 and 142) will expire at the end of this month.

The section in EO 124 pertaining to offering repayment plans (of at least 6 months) to those that need them will remain in place.

This is a reminder that while EO 124 halted utility cutoffs in relation to COVID-19 it does not forgive any past, present or future balances for utility use. Customers are still required to pay for all electricity, water, sewer, and garbage use.

If you are having trouble paying your bill, please call and speak to one of our customer service representatives at Town Hall as soon as possible — (919) 894-3553.
