Town of Benson issued the following announcement on July 29.
With the approval of the 2020-21 budget and fee schedule, all Benson utilities customers will now have an additional $2.50 storm water fee added to their bills.
This additional $2.50 per month will go toward the maintenance of Benson’s storm water system throughout town and toward any future projects involving storm water.
Over the past few years, Benson’s storm water drainage systems have been a top priority in maintenance and upgrades due to several significant hurricane and storm events. This storm water fee was deemed crucial to ensuring we have the resources needed to continue to protect the property of our residents and business owners in the event of significant rainfall.
