Johnston County recently issued the following announcement.
On Tuesday, December 29, 2020, the Johnston County Register of Deeds Office will re-open to the public during normal business hours.
Limited staff will be available and in an effort to reduce walk-in traffic, appointments will be required for marriage certificates and notary public. Passport services are suspended until further notice.
To make an appointment, for marriage certificates please call (919) 989-5161 and call (919) 989-5160 for notary public or you may visit www.johnstonnc.com/rod.
The public is highly encouraged to visit the Johnston County Register of Deeds website and utilize the many services that are available online such as electronic recording of real estate documents and requests for certified birth, death and marriage certificates.
