Town of Clayton issued the following announcement on Sep 3.
The Town of Clayton has hired Ben Howell as its new Planning Director, effective Aug. 30.
Howell, who served the past five years as the Long Range Planning Manager for the Town of Morrisville, brings with him 16 years of local government planning experience.
“Ben is an excellent current and long range planner with years of experience working with local governments in North Carolina.” said Clayton Interim Town Manager Rich Cappola. “He has come to Clayton at a critical time as we continue to manage growth and its demand on Town services. I know that he will be a valuable resource to our staff and community.”
Prior to joining the Town of Clayton Planning Department, Howell spent nine years with the Town of Morrisville, four years with the Chatham County Planning Department, nearly two years with the Town of Plymouth, and one year with the Ravalli County Planning Department in Montana.
He is a 2005 graduate of East Carolina University, where he double majored in Urban and Regional Planning with a concentration in Coastal and Environmental Planning and Communication with a concentration in Public Relations.
“I am looking forward to being a part of this great community and helping to make it an even better place for all of its residents, said Howell.
