Town of Clayton issued the following announcement on May 16.
Clayton is sending three linemen to compete and judge in the 23rd Annual North Carolina Association of Municipal Electric Systems Lineman's Rodeo. The NCAMES is a non-profit association and an affiliate of the NC League of Municipalities. NCAMES aspires to promote interest and the welfare of municipal electric systems in North Carolina.
The NCAMES Lineman Rodeo consists of various obstacle courses, events, and challenges that test the skill and knowledge of the competing linemen.
The Town of Clayton is sending John Beasley to compete in the Journeyman event, Jacob Robinson to compete in the Apprentice Competition, and Jon Huber to serve as an event judge.
These men have volunteered their time to represent the Town of Clayton Electric Department at this year's Lineman's Rodeo. Along with the competition, NCAMES also hosts a conference that allows electric professionals an opportunity to discuss and exchange information, ideas and experiences. These core values encourage and promote safe and reliable municipal electric service.
The 2022 Rodeo begins on Thursday, May 19. It is held in Shelby, North Carolina.
