TOWN OF BENSON: Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Town of Benson issued the following announcement on Oct. 10.

Are you ready for the Benson Parks and Recreation and Mary Duncan Public Library's Pumpkin Decorating Contest? We had a lot of fun filming this spooky promo! Check it out for more info about this year's contest!

You can start bringing your pumpkins by the Library on October 10, but be sure to get your creation submitted before October 26 at 5:30pm!

Here’s how it works:

-There will be two age groups this year — 13 and younger and 14 and older. Both age groups will have prizes awarded for first, second, and third places (a total of six winners across both groups). Prizes are First Place — $50 gift card, Second Place — $25 gift card, Third Place — $10 gift basket.

-There will be no carved pumpkins or hollowed out pumpkins this year — only decorated. Carved pumpkins tend to decompose faster and are difficult to store in good condition for an extended period of time.

-All decorated pumpkins should be dropped off at the Mary Duncan Public Library (100 W. Main Street) by October 26 at 5:30pm. You can fill out the contest registration form when you drop your pumpkin off at the library.

-Pumpkins will be judged and the winners will be announced on Friday, October 28 (photos of all pumpkins in the contest will be posted on this Facebook page!)
