Town of Benson issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.
The public will take notice that the Board of Commissioners of the Town of Benson has called a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Town of Benson Conference Center located at 303 E. Church St., Benson, N.C. 27504 on the question of annexing the following described non-contiguous territory, requested by petition filed pursuant to G.S. 160A-58.1:
26.023 acres located near the intersection of N Honeycutt Rd & Woodmen Road.
Beginning at an existing iron pipe located in the western right of way of N. Honeycutt Street, said Existing Iron Pipe having NC Grid NAD 83 (2011) coordinate N(y): 597,252.84’ E(x): 2,140,423.56’; thence along said right of way N 37°06'32" E a distance of 378.35' to a point; thence along said right of way with a curve turning to the left with an arc length of158.42', with a radius of 2479.26', with a chord bearing of N 35°16'42" E, with a chord length of158.40',; thence along said right of way with a compound curve turning to the left with an arc length of 242.12', with a radius of 6713.71', with a chord bearing of N 32°24'53" E, with a chord length of 242.10' to an existing iron pipe,; thence leaving said right of way S 86°10'55" E a distance of 170.97' to a new iron pipe; thence N 22°18'36" E a distance of 206.94';thence N 21°36'49" E a distance of 56.65'; thence N 72°25'43" E a distance of 500.34';thence N 73°29'57" E a distance of 213.98'; thence S 02°26'12" E a distance of 1177.23'; thence S 89°36'47" W a distance of 810.92'; thence S 02°01'59" E a distance of 38.62';thence N 77°40'46" W a distance of 657.36'; which is the point of beginning, having an area of 1133570.81 square feet, 26.023 acres
