Mr. Brian Jones has been recognized as the JCPS Certified Employee of the Month for April 2025. A dedicated band director at SSS for the past 22 years, his contributions have been instrumental in fostering an enriching musical program for students.

Jones has demonstrated a commitment to teaching that spans over 28 years, impacting students with lessons on hard work, time management, and integrity. His influence extends beyond music, equipping students with life skills that last long after graduation. "Passionate about his students," Mr. Jones takes pride in the program he has developed alongside his students, stating, "I have always enjoyed being part of teams and watching them grow."

Citing his high school band director as a key influence, Jones sought to emulate that positive impact on his students. He expressed, "The profession has taught me that teachers are so important to the future of our world."

Jones emphasizes creating a supportive environment within the band program, aligning with his motto inspired by Coach K: “The greatest pride of all comes from being a part of something you could never do alone.” His approach fosters a "family atmosphere" where students become part of something larger than themselves.

Looking forward, Jones commits to maintaining excellence by fostering leadership among students. He shared insights about building relationships, highlighting the importance of trust, safety, and support. Starting each class with positive news allows him to better understand and engage with his students.

Jones remains driven by future aspirations, aiming to inspire resilience and ambition in his students. He advises aspiring educators to ensure they possess passion and dedication: "Your impact will be felt long after your students have left your classroom."
