Smithfield – North Carolina State Rep. Donna McDowell White (R) announced she is running for re-election.
In a Facebook post, White said she was “pleased to have filed to today for re-election to the state House of Representatives.
“As your (r)epresentative, I am your voice and advocate in Raleigh," she said.
White filed her re-election paperwork with the Johnston County Board of Elections Office. In the Facebook post, White is seen completing the documents at the elections office.
“I’m ready and positioned as the Health Policy and Health Appropriations Chair to continue my work this year for affordable insurance for working families and meaningful solutions for rural health care.” White said.
White described herself as “humbled and blessed to be a Johnstonian, a Registered Nurse, and the first woman from Johnston County to serve in the NC House.”
She made her announcement Dec. 2.
