Johnston County Public Schools continue to emphasize character education, recognizing students who demonstrate commendable traits. Each month, the Johnston County Board of Education acknowledges these students for their positive impact.
Aaliyhia Tentzohua Rivera, a third grader at Dixon Road Elementary, was recognized for her respectfulness. She is noted for treating peers and adults with kindness and maintaining an organized workspace. "Rivera shows respect for her working environment by always having her desk neat, clean, and organized."
Ali Alkhatib from McGee’s Crossroads Elementary also exemplifies respect. Known for his positive demeanor and willingness to help classmates, Alkhatib fosters an inclusive classroom environment. "Alkhatib is always willing to lend a hand to classmates who may be struggling."
Cathrynn Lowe, an eighth grader at McGee’s Crossroads Middle, was acknowledged for compassion. As a student-athlete, she encourages teammates and treats others kindly regardless of ability. "Lowe embodies the character trait of compassion with grace and enthusiasm."
Violet Whoolery from West Johnston High demonstrated leadership in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Her compassionate leadership has strengthened community bonds within the school. "Her ability to lead with empathy has not only strengthened the FCA community but also continues to inspire a culture of kindness."
Preston Jones from West View Elementary was honored for self-discipline. He demonstrates leadership among peers by sharing ideas and assisting friends while maintaining dedication to schoolwork. "He has been seen responsibly sweeping the cafeteria floors after lunch each day."
These recognitions highlight the ongoing commitment of Johnston County Public Schools to foster good character in its students.
