Mrs. Loan Such has been recognized as the JCPS Classified Employee of the Month for January 2025. Her nearly three-decade-long career with Johnston County Public Schools (JCPS) began in 1995, and she currently serves as a teacher assistant at River Dell Elementary School.

In addition to her role within the classroom, Mrs. Such also drives a school bus each morning, ensuring students arrive safely at school. She assists four first-grade classrooms and provides support throughout the school as needed.

When asked about her recognition, Mrs. Such expressed gratitude: "I’m so honored to be chosen as the January 2025 Classified Employee of the Month."

Her daily involvement with children is something she values greatly: "I love being involved with children in my daily routine, from driving the bus to being a teacher assistant."

Building relationships is another key aspect of her work: "It's important to build relationships with the staff, and I do that by helping teachers in an effort to make their jobs easier," she said. For students, she aims to be approachable: "I build relationships with them by letting them know that they can come to me with questions."

Mrs. Such emphasized collaboration and teamwork's importance in education: "Collaboration and teamwork is crucial in providing our students with a high-quality education." She believes these efforts result in better outcomes for everyone involved.

Reflecting on what she enjoys most about her job, Mrs. Such noted: "The best thing about my job is see[ing] the academic growth in children that I have helped."

To those considering joining JCPS, Mrs. Such offers encouragement: "To anyone thinking of joining the JCPS team, I would say that if you love to make a difference in a child's life, this is a place!"

Mrs. Such resides in North Carolina with her husband and their three children.
